Flying raptors paintings
My latest works are these flying bird illustrations and silhouettes for a Birds Guide to Sit Natura 2000.
I made this paintings in Photoshop with my Wacom Pen tablet. I tryed to illustrate juvennile and adult or male and female birds with their typical plummage.

The feeding Waxwing
I made this photo of feeding Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus) but the auto-focus fixed to the bush and the bird come blurry. So I decided to paint the Waxwing because I liked the feeding position and the flying berry.

Originally I painted this falcon for the Romanian IBA book cover.
Now I decided to add some background and finish the image.

Bad European Water Shrew photo
Here I’ll show how I tunned up this bad photo of European Water Shrew (Neomys fodiens)
First I cutted out the shrew from the background and calibrated the color balance.
Next, I pasted the new background.
There is the photo after correction. :)

My back works
My early painting was made with Photoshop due to my designer job I use this software all day and night :)
My first paint was this Kingfisher (Alcedo athis). All my digital paints I start whit a new document with white background. I use an 50% brown brush to finish a sketch of the bird. Next I begin to add some colour to the picture using a large brush. I’m not concerned with the details too much, just trying to pick the right colours. After I set the colours I begin to add details with a smaller hard brush with different opacity. Well, I keep doing this until I’m happy with the result of the detail and harmony of colors and forms. In the end I do a small adjusting of the three-dimensional aspect of the kingfisher with the Burn and Dodge tools.
Unfortunately the original digital file of this kingfisher I lost. Only this print what I have but due to the early inkjet technology (1999) the resolution is not as good as today inkjet prints. :(

This Dipper (Cinclus cinclus) I painted in 2006. Here I painted a dark background to emphasize the brownish colors of the dipper.
